Maximuscle Vitamin D3 tablets, often considered a hormone rather than a vitamin due to vitamin D being responsible for regulating phosphate and calcium in the body. Officially, vitamin D is classed as a fat soluble vitamin which is obtained in part, from the diet but mostly from direct sunlight.

The reference nutrient intake (RNI) for vitamin D is 10μg per day for anyone over the age of 1. The NHS suggest that vitamin D deficiencies do occur and supplementation with 10μg/d should be considered. Based on the scientific literature, active individuals at risk of a deficiency may benefit from supplementing with a higher dose.
